Social Profile:
Hepi's background in chemistry and materials science allows him to gain experiences in synthesizing and characterizing new biomaterials, especially ultrashort peptides. These biomaterials have ability to self-assembly forming an ordered 3-D and robust structures via noncovalent interactions. The self-assembly itself can be found naturally in living cells, that are used as the inspiration for developing new biocompatible, biodegradable, and biofunctional materials. Nowadays, many application in regenerative medicine, drugs and gene delivery, hybrid materials, and template in synthesis of inorganic materials have been developed by utilizing peptide biomaterials.
